Hour of Power --Have you had yours?

I was listening to a program today while I was doing my cardio exercise. The program revolved around setting time aside for you. Do you have an hour at the most? This is advisable to do first thing in the morning. I was called your Hour of Power. You take this time to reflect on your goals and what you are thankful for. You can do this during your exercise. The benefit of doing this in the morning is increased metabolism, and in conjunction with the Eating For Life/Body For Life lifestyle gives you a prolonged energy level and better fat loss. This ritual can also be done later in the day, but you will miss out on the optimal state that exercise does to your metabolism. It has been found that most people who plan to do it later in the day get caught up with stressful things and other commitments and miss their time. This time has to be a MUST for you not a maybe. This has to be just like showing up for an important meeting with your boss or showering before work. These are musts I would hope. It may sound selfish to take this time for yourself, but once you honor your self promises your character and self esteem goes through the roof. That’s how you build character. You make little promises to yourself and keep them. Once you feel better with yourself, your dealings with family and other people are better.I have been doing this for three months now and did not even know it. I now have a name to put with it. I will admit that it was a struggle to get out of bed, if I got out at all. I now enjoy the time that I spend in the gym. It is like my fortress of solitude, only with other people around. I even find myself trying to squeeze in some extras because I don’t want to leave early. I come home more refreshed and ready for the day. I decided to do this because it would be the only time available to me. I really dislike going to the gym in the evenings. It is very crowded and people like to occupy machines and talk. That’s what chairs are for. My wife gets ready for work at 7:00am, and my 2 year old is up and getting into trouble. We made a deal. I would go in the mornings and be back by 7:00. Every morning the alarm is set for 4:45am. I get up get some water and a small bite to eat and make it to the gym by 5:30. This gives me enough time to do a strength workout and some cardio or a marathon cardio session depending on what day it is. The power and energy I feel from doing this is awesome!! It is a way of life for me now. Now I look forward to my Hour of Power and feel incomplete without it. I can totally feel it when I don’t go.I hope this inspires you to take a look at it and find your Hour of Power.
