The battle against the nemesis, "The Beast"

Today was a huge breakthrough day. I went to the gym because I had a date with my nemesis, "The StairMaster". I started out in the elliptical for 20 minutes and felt great. I knew that this is the time to tackle the beast. I got on the machine with the tools of the trade, my water bottle, towel, and MP3 player.
I set the machine for 10 minutes and at a level 8. Well let me tell you, I made it five minutes in and the legs were burning. I forgot to stretch out the calves. What a beating they took. The calories were ticking off like the dials on a gas pump, and the sweat started pouring out just as fast.

I switched it down to level 5 for three minutes to ease the burn. It did not work totally. I powered through it though, and on minute number eight I kicked it back up to level 8 for a minute. I finished out the final minute on level five and completed my goal for the day. I wanted to stop, the burn was intense, but I remembered that "Pain is temporary and quitting last forever!" So I dialed in some good music and power through the pain. That's what it's all about working past your perceived limitations the finish the task at hand.

Oh yeah, I then got back on the elliptical for the final 25 minutes and finished strong.
