Well the diet continues to take somewhat of a beating. I completed the twin killing by not exercising today too. The recovery process is a slow, but a continuing process. I was surprised by a belated birthday ice cream cake today. I had a piece of course, it is my favorite. I was good and had it in moderation at least. This just continues to reinforces my thought of adding another week to the plan. I will make the final determination at my weekly State of the Workout address on Sunday. I think just like the economy and stock market, my diet has fallen into the crapper. There have been talks of a nutrition bailout plan, and an exercise stimulus package being planned. The final phase of both have not been finalized as of today. Steve 2.0 the new president-elect of the LowFatSteve nation is quickly filling his cabinet with healthy choices to surround him. I am looking for a more positive weekend and a crisp beginning to the new week. Thanks to all who have endured these tough diet and exercise times. Our diet and exercise principles remain strong, and I know that if we come together as a nation this can all be turned around.Saturday, November 29, 2008
The disaster continues!

So, I'm pretty pissed off. My first attempt at leaving a comment was erased by the Blogger Natzi's. It was a gem, I tell ya. A GEM.
To hell with a Nutritional Industry bailout. Did you see that those guys arrived to the bailout hearing in the company's private gravy boat? Fuckers.
Just because Captain Cheesecake pirated your Thanksgiving Booty does not mean that the entire week was a bust. Holidays are notoriously difficult for any dieter, especially those who start that week. When I saw Nov 24th as yur start date I thought man... is he a glutton for punishment? Well, you made it through... and probably consumed a lot less calories because of your consumption awareness.
You have a month until Christmas. Now is the opportune time to build a strong nutritional foundation so that you will make wiser choices the next time around. And remember... just because you are trying to lose weight does not mean that certain foods should be off limits. Research shows that food restrictions lead to cheating. Just plan ahead next time. You know darn well that you will have something that isn't diet friendly. So... add an extra workout that week. Shave some calories off the other days in the week to balance out the extra calories on the holiday.
And remember... you CAN have cheesecake... or ice cream cake... or whatever poison your choose. Your brain will register a satisfied response even if you just take a sliver of a piece... or three spoonfuls. It is our own lowsy self control and desire for excess that causes us to take a massive slice, and then eat the whole stinkin thing. Thin people do eat many of the same foods heavy people eat... just a whole lot less of it. You want chocolate? Have ONE Hershey Kiss. You want cheesecake? Have one paper thin slice. You still get the filling and the crust... you just don't expand your ass. You can still have those things. Just plan ahead so you won't feel like all your hardwork is for nothing.
And forgive yourself for slipups. You have a hard enough battle as is... you don't need guilt weighing you down as well.
You have inspired me, Low Fat Steve. I am down for the struggle, homey. Is there room for one more in the low fat gravy boat?
