This weekend has been very tough for me. Normally, I have been very religious in making it to the gym. Week ends are a problem with conflicting work schedules. I missed this weekend totally. I did fairly well with the food intake even if they did a potluck cultural day event at work on Saturday. What a way to kick off a new challenge.
I am finding that I still have some issues to contend with as far as home. There are some strong ties to food. It sounds strange, but I believe my relationship with my closest people revolves around food. This is the common ground in the relationship. This poses a huge obstacle in my weight-loss success.
This morning I set my alarm on my phone to wake up at 4:30 AM because the regular alarm wakes up my wife and kid, and they can't get back to sleep in the morning. So I did the wrong thing, and left the phone within reach from my bed. I turned it off and rolled over my back to sleep. I know me, that's why my alarm clock is across the room. That way, I have to get up and there is no going back to bed. Big mistake!! There is a bright side, I don't have to go in until 1:00 PM, so I can go to the gym this morning.
I seem to have the exercise portion down. I really look forward to the weight days because I'm starting to see results. Next I have to concentrate on my diet. This is been a real sticking point for me. If I don't get the diet under control than all am doing is making muscles under a layer of fat.
