Inglorious Fat Loss

Gentleman,
We are going to be doing one thing and one thing only. KILLING FAT!
We are in the fat killing business.... And brother business is a BOOMING!!

Question:
Why does it take a weight loss competition to get people excited about doing something good for themselves?
Is it the actual competition, or the money associated to it. I suppose it would depend on the individual.

I am a little bit of both. Maybe it is the competitiveness of sports that brings it out or just the desire to be better than everyone else. Cash money is a great motivator to boot. I figure that if I beat out the 17 other competitors my ROI (return on investment) would be 1000%. That is excellent for doing something that I need to do anyway. So why not beat out a few people in the process.
