Bright Side of last week
I will have to say the biggest highlight of the week was my two pound weight loss, but there was something that came in a close second. I have been working on a long-term goal of running a mile and a half in less than 12:30 minutes. I ran on Thursday and broke my current record. The new record was 18:53. I don’t know who was running in my shoes on Friday but they looked like me. Get this… I ran a mile and a half in 15:41. I demolished the record by 3:12. I was just aiming for an even mile after a good lower body workout. I felt good so I went to 11:00. I really wanted to stop, but I said I would after one more minute. I got to the 12-minute mark and talked myself into going the rest of the way. I actually sped up to 7.0 at one point. It was awesome to actually do that. I learned that if you tell your mind you can do it, your body will follow. I guess I have to kick it up a notch on future runs.
