POOR DECISIONS !!! Day 3

Today started well. I made to the gym and did a half ass workout. This was disappointing. I did enough to feel the burn in my quads and hammys. The diet started well and then I went to a job interview. I picked up pot roast grinders. Poor Decision #1. I also had several glasses of soda. Poor Decision #2. This ruined all the progress that I may have acheived today.
My wife asked me what the problem was. I start out well in the morning and fall off during the day. She summed it up in two words POOR DECISIONS. There is no one but yourself sticking junk down your throat. I have to figure out some foods that will make me want them over my addiction to other foods. I am going to switch to crystal light instead of soda. I know water is better, but crystal light is way better than soda. So we will start off with that and see where it takes us.

A few tips that I have found helpful:
1. Don't keep soda in the house to begin with. If your wife needs soda, have her keep them in her vehicle for a while until you kick the habit. It's a very small sacrifice to make.
2. When you go out, only bring the amount of money you NEED. Don't bring any extra. Don't bring your debit card unless you have to.
3. Bring snack food with you in the car so when you feel hungry, you won't ease your car into the drive thru lane. You can reach over and satisfy the hunger with a piece of fruit or some nuts in a bag.
4. If you are not hungry... just stopping at the drive thru out of habit or addiction, you have to stop and THINK before you make a decision. You have the power not to steer your car into that parking lot. I'm sure there are the same old places you stop at for fast food. It may seem like a collosal waste of time but maybe drive a different route that won't take you near those same old places. Yes you will have to work hard to avoid them on other roads because fast food joints are everywhere, but it is a heck of a lot easier to avoid the ones you never frequent rather than the ones you continually stop at when you make poor choices.

Make "no fast food" a daily goal. It is a tremendously hard habit to break, but you CAN do this. Do some research on the web and see if you can find low fat alternatives to your favorites that you can make at home and control the calories. The only way to stop traveling down a path that you don't want to be on is to take steps in the other direction.... even if they have to be small steps.
